The Green is put to bed for the Winter

The bowls season has finished for 2025 but Greenkeeper Garry and his team of volunteers, then spent endless hours (with a few well deserved tea breaks) getting the Green ready before it's put to rest, over the winter months. There was lots of technical machinery involved, along with seeding and autumn feeding  - well done all, much appreciated so we can have a great green for 2026.

Byfield Bowls Club is very fortunate having an excellent six-rink outdoor green. The Clubhouse in the Russell Pavilion has both ladies and men’s changing rooms, a spacious function room, a bar and a balcony with amazing views overlooking the sports ground and church.

We are often envied by other visiting clubs because of our scenic position in a quintessential English village.
